khaliouni, khaliouni, m3 ra2ii khaliouni
leave me, leave me with my thought(s) (opinion, idea), leave me

el7ob libudd yet3b wa 3laash hekedaa tekiwouni
love certainly is exhausting (tires oneself, wears you out), and why do you burn* me like this?

khaliouni, khaliouni, m3 ra2ii khaliouni
leave me, leave me with my thought(s) (opinion, idea), leave me

el7ob libudd yet3b wa 3laash hekedaa tekiwouni
love certainly is exhausting (tires oneself, wears you out), and why do you burn* me like this?

leave me, leave me with my thought(s) (opinion, idea), leave me

el7ob libudd yet3b wa 3laash hekedaa tekiwouni
love certainly is exhausting (tires oneself, wears you out), and why do you burn* me like this?

To be honest, you can write the name of the song as خلوني or خليوني; when researching the song, I mostly saw it written as خلوني so that's why I have chosen this spelling when writing out the lyrics here.

خلوني or خليوني (khaliouni) can mean "leave me" or "let me". For example, if I say خليني شوفك (khalini shoufak), I'm saying "let me see you", like I'm asking permission to see you.

*"burn" as in "burned by the flame of love"

For this song, my helpful aid was my friend from Tunisia, so I would like to thank her :)

***I don't mind if you use any of this for your personal use, so please feel free to share. If you would like to post it on your personal site (website, blog, etc), please just be kind and put a link back to this page for me - translating songs takes time and I would really appreciate it :) Happy Dancing <3

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I fell in love with belly dancing when I was 16 years old. I was a Russian dancer with a group from my church and we were performing at an international party when I saw belly dancing for the first time. I couldn't stop watching the dancer and decided from that point on that I would focus all of my dance energy on belly dancing. The rest is history...
